"Uzhavan app" - Benefits and How to get subsidy for agricultural machinery?

Introduction:

Government of Tamil Nadu launched UZHAVAN – உழவன் App for farmers in the state. The app provides complete real-time information related to agriculture and also provides 9 important services such as weather updates and latest crop rates. The app is launched by the Chief Minister TN Edappadi K.Palaniswami at the Secretariat. The app supports two languages Tamil and English.

  • Information on schemes such as seeds, anti-bird net, plastic mulching, beehives, machinery, pre-cooling champer, reefer van, mobile vendor cart, solar pump set, shade net, poly house, pack house, hi-tech nursery, small nursery, new tissue culture lab, low-cost onion storage and mushroom cultivation.
  • Farmers can also register themselves on the app and apply for subsidies and schemes.
  • Information on availability of seeds and fertilizers in various government, cooperative and private outlets nearby.

How to get subsidy for agricultural machinery through "Uzhavan app"?

Agricultural machinery and implements are being provided to farmers at subsidized rates under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme to increase the net profit of the farmers.

Under this scheme which is implemented on behalf of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, 50 per cent subsidy will be given to small, marginal and female farmers for purchase of agricultural implements including tractor, power tiller, shrub removal equipment and 40 per cent subsidy to other farmers.

Procedure:

Farmers need to first download the Uzhavan APP from the play store or App Store on your mobile to get it at a subsidized price.

  1. Then select the benefit registration.
  2. Then select Farm Machinery (Engineering Department) under the category.
  3. His application will then be registered in the UZHAVAN APP.
  4. His application will then be linked to the Central Government website www.agrimachinery.nic.in.
  5. He will then be given an ID and password once the relevant details are recorded.

Required Documents:

Thereafter, farmers are required to submit their land details, bank account details and details of their family members on the Central Government website.

He must also upload his photo, identity card, proof of location, passport, family card, voter card, pan card, bank passbook or cancelled bank check, caste certificate and certificate for small and marginal farmer.

Then he has to select the agricultural machinery or implements he needs through the website and he will be given a 6 digit secret code PIN No.

Conditions:

On the website, the farmer has to select the agent of the agricultural machinery or equipment he / she needs. If he / she does not select the appropriate agent within 15 days, his / her application will be automatically rejected.

It is also not possible to apply for the same agricultural machinery or implements again by the farmer for 1 month.

Meet the selected agent in person and provide the documents and the 6 digit secret code number given to him.

The farmer should submit the total amount of the agent's sale price for agricultural machinery or equipment to the selected agent by draft, cash, bank check or through the bank's website.

It is worth noting that the agent's selling price includes the base price of agricultural machinery or equipment, transportation charges, and the goods and services tax.
